God is a being that was never created. He is the Almighty King, and there is none that is comparable to him, and no comparisons should be made to him. Then he created a throne, which is called the Al-ʽArsh. Muhammad (PBUH) explained that Allah's throne is ruby in color and that from one side of the throne to the other side is the distance of a 50,000-year journey. And on the throne, there are lanterns. Allah created the angels. According to the Quran and Muhammad, they are beings without free will and have an abundance of knowledge. They are not able to fail in their assigned duties. Their physical composition is unclear.
